Better prospecting starts with decisions, not more signals
AI-native prospecting maintains an evolving view of each account, then directs human attention where the combined evidence matters now.
We’ve spent years trying to give sales teams more signals.
→ More intent
→ More contacts
→ More job changes
→ More website activity
→ More funding events
Then AI arrived and made it possible to find, process and act on even more of them.
But the fundamental question for an SDR hasn’t changed:
Who should I actually work today, and why?
A signal alone rarely answers that.
A new CRO might matter.
A new CRO + a RevOps leader talking publicly about AI + a hiring brief describing a GTM transformation is something different.
Those signals are related.
Together they tell you something about what is happening inside the account.
And that should change the work.
The old model of prospecting is essentially:
Build a list → match a signal → start a sequence → increase activity.
AI-assisted prospecting makes that machine faster.
More accounts researched.
More signals detected.
More contacts found.
More personalised openers.
More sequences started.
But more activity isn’t necessarily better prospecting.
The AI-native model starts somewhere different:
Understand → Decide → Act → Learn
Understand what is changing inside an account.
Decide whether that makes it worth working now, who matters, what they are likely trying to solve, and how to approach them.
Then coordinate the right activity across the buying group.
That requires more than detecting signals.
It requires maintaining an evolving understanding of the account as new evidence appears.
The CRO changes.
A hiring plan appears.
Someone engages with your research.
A meeting happens.
A new stakeholder enters.
The system updates what it understands, reprioritises the account and changes what should happen next.
That creates an important shift in the economics of prospecting.
When research and activity become abundant, understanding and attention become scarce.
The advantage isn’t sending 10x more personalised outreach.
It’s knowing which small fraction of the market deserves human attention right now, and giving the rep enough understanding to do something meaningfully different with it.
That’s the prospecting system we’re building at Revenue Labs.
Not more signals.
Better decisions about where to spend attention.
